At Crown Agents Zimbabwe (CAZim), we are committed to delivering impactful development solutions in every corner of Zimbabwe. Our work spans all 10 provinces, allowing us to collaborate closely with local authorities, communities, and stakeholders. With over 1,600 health facilities across the country, we’ve built strong relationships at the provincial, district, and ward/village levels. This vast network enables us to mobilize teams rapidly and effectively to deliver critical services in even the most remote areas.

Impact of Our Work: Results-Based Financing (RBF) in the Districts

We have successfully implemented Results-Based Financing (RBF) programs in several districts across Zimbabwe, making a significant impact on healthcare outcomes. The RBF model ensures that funds are directly tied to performance, incentivizing improvements in healthcare delivery, particularly in maternal and child health services.

Lupane

Lupane District has 13 public health facilities of which 12 clinics and one hospital are contracted under RBF. Early neonatal deaths decreased by 56% during the period of 2014 to 2019. No maternal deaths were recorded in 2019. Average Client Satisfaction Score in Lupane District is at 87%. Total earnings for the contracted rural health facilities were $350,000 for the period of Quarter 2, 2014 to Quarter 1, 2020. An average of $18,900 was earned by the hospital and $1,600 for the Rural Health Centre since Quarter 1, 2019

Tsholotsho

Tsholotsho District has 20 public health facilities of which 19 clinics and one hospital are contracted under RBF. The trend of positive Malaria cases decreased by 71% during the period of 2014 to 2019. There was a decrease of 51% in early neonatal deaths during the same period. Average Client Satisfaction Score in Tsholotsho District is at 85%. Total earnings for the contracted rural health facilities were $400,000 for the period of Quarter 2, 2014 to Quarter 1, 2020. An average of $14,500 was earned by the hospital and $1,500 for the Rural Health Centre since Quarter 1, 2019.

Umzingwane

Umzingwane District has 15 public health facilities of which 14 clinics and one hospital are contracted under RBF. Zero maternal deaths were recorded in 2019. Average Client Satisfaction Score for Umzingwane is at 86%. $270,000 was earned by the health facilities in Umzingwane District for the period of Quarter 2, 2014 to Quarter 1, 2020. An average of $10,000 was earned by the hospital and $1,200 for the Rural Health Centre since Quarter 1, 2019.

Insiza

Insiza District has 18 public health facilities of which 15 clinics and one hospital are contracted under RBF. Zero maternal deaths were recorded in the district in 2019. Average Client Satisfaction Score in Shamva District is at 89%. Total earnings for the contracted rural health facilities were $400,000 for the period of Quarter 2, 2014 to Quarter 1, 2020. An average of $13,000 was earned by the hospital and $1,400 for the Rural Health Centre since Quarter 1, 2019.

Sanyati

Sanyati District has 22 public health facilities of which 15 clinics and two hospitals are contracted under RBF. The trend of positive Malaria cases decreased by 83% during the period of 2014 to 2019. Average Client Satisfaction Score in Sanyati District is at 90%. Total earnings for the contracted rural health facilities were $500,000 for the period of Quarter 2, 2014 to Quarter 1, 2020. An average of $17,500 was earned by the hospitals and $1,700 for the Rural Health Centre since Quarter 1, 2019.

Mhondoro

Mhondoro District has 19 public health facilities of which 16 clinics and one hospital are contracted under RBF. There was a 53% decrease in early neonatal deaths from 2014 to 2019. The trend of positive malaria cases decreased by 30% during the same period. Average Client Satisfaction Score for Mhondoro is at 86%. $540,000 was earned by the health facilities in Mhondoro District for the period of Quarter 2, 2014 to Quarter 1, 2020. An average of $11,000 was earned by the hospital and $1,700 for the Rural Health Centre since Quarter 1, 2019.

Goromonzi

Goromonzi District has 28 public health facilities of which 20 clinics and one hospital are contracted under RBF. The trend of positive Malaria cases decreased by 87% during the period 2014 to 2019. Average Client Satisfaction Score in Goromonzi District is at 85%. Total earnings for the contracted rural health facilities were at $760,000 for the period of Quarter 2, 2014 to Quarter 1, 2020. An average of $15,800 was earned by the hospital and $1,800 for the Rural Health Centre since Quarter 1, 2019.

Shamva

Shamva District has 17 public health facilities of which 14 clinics and one hospital are contracted under RBF. The trend of positive Malaria cases decreased by 60% during the period of 2014 to 2019 in the district. Average Client Satisfaction Score in Shamva District is at 85%. Total earnings for the contracted rural health facilities were $640,000 for the period of Quarter 2, 2014 to Quarter 1, 2020. An average of $10,000 was earned by the hospital and $1,700 for the Rural Health Centre since Quarter 1, 2019.

Zaka

Zaka District has 25 public health facilities of which 21 clinics and two hospitals are contracted under RBF. The trend of positive Malaria cases decreased by 53% during the period of 2014 to 2019. Average Client Satisfaction Score in Zaka District is at 91%. Over a million USD was cumulatively earned by the RBF health facilities in Zaka district for the period of Quarter 2, 2014 to Quarter 1, 2020. An average of $16,800 was earned by the hospitals and $1,700 for the Rural Health Centre since Quarter 1, 2019.

Bikita

Bikita District has 24 public health facilities of which 22 clinics and two hospitals are contracted under RBF. The trend of positive malaria cases decreased by 57% during the period of 2014 to 2019. Average Client Satisfaction Score for Bikita is at 93%. Over a million USD was cumulatively earned by the RBF health facilities in Bikita district for the period of Quarter 2, 2014 to Quarter 1, 2020. An average of $15,600 was earned by the two hospitals and $2,000 for the Rural Health Centre since Quarter 1, 2019.

Chipinge

The trend of positive malaria cases decreased by 68% during the period of 2014 to 2019.
