At Crown Agents Zimbabwe (CAZim), we believe that data is a powerful tool for making informed decisions and driving sustainable development. Our work in various sectors, including health, humanitarian interventions, economic stabilization, and governance, is supported by robust data collection, analysis, and reporting, allowing us to measure impact, track progress, and identify areas for improvement.

Key Statistics from CAZim's Projects
1. Health Sector Impact
- Over 6 million individuals gained access to health services through the Results Based Financing (RBF) project since 2012.
- 160,000 women received their first antenatal care visit in 2019, representing a 180% increase from 2016.
- 5.5 million growth monitoring visits were conducted for children under 5 years annually.
- 500 maternity-waiting homes were constructed across various districts, contributing to a 50% decrease in maternal deaths during childbirth.
- Attendance rates at public health institutions increased from 20% in 2008 to 99.98% in 2016.
- Doctors in district hospitals increased from 82 in 2012 to 166 in 2017.
- DTP3 vaccination coverage in 18 districts (90%) surpassed baseline targets during 2024 (Jan-Aug), with engagement of vaccine-hesitant groups strengthened through recruitment of community-based organizations (CBOs) and community health workers (CHWs).
- MR2 vaccination coverage in 18 districts (90%) surpassed target of ≥80% during the same period, indicating significant improvements in immunization services across the country.
2. Humanitarian Interventions
- 55,000 tonnes of maize were imported to provide food assistance to 1.6 million people during Zimbabwe’s lean season (2016/17).
- Cold chain storage facilities were established to ensure the safe storage and distribution of vaccines during the COVID-19 pandemic, enabling successful vaccination drives and achieving herd immunity.
3. Economic Stabilization
- USD $250 million was disbursed under the Human Resources for Health Retention Scheme (HRHRS) to ensure the timely payment of retention allowances to 25,000 health workers.
- USD $76 million was managed for the Results-Based Financing for Health (RBF) project to improve maternal and child health indicators and strengthen the country’s healthcare system.
4. Governance & Public Administration
- Over 1,400 health facilities were assessed during the Vital Medicines and Health Systems Survey (VMAHS), providing critical data to improve the availability and distribution of essential medicines and health services.
- 1,000+ procurement reforms were implemented under the Procurement Reform Program, leading to the establishment of the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ).
5. Climate Change & Renewable Energy
- Solar energy projects have been implemented in several communities, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and increasing resilience to climate change in vulnerable areas.
- Climate change adaptation programs were carried out in collaboration with UNICEF across multiple countries, including Zimbabwe, aiming to mitigate environmental impacts and enhance healthcare waste management.
